Love authentic Italian food but can’t hop on a plane to Italy every time you crave it?
We’ve got the next best thing! Join us for a hands-on pasta-making class where you’ll learn to craft fresh pasta completely from scratch- using simple ingredients you probably already have at home.
Under Chef John’s expert guidance, you’ll make your own egg-based dough, roll it out, and cut it into beautiful ribbons of tagliatelle and pappardelle.
Working in teams, you’ll prepare a classic Roman sauce- Amatriciana- a rich and flavorful combination of guanciale (cured pork), tomatoes, fresh chilies, and plenty of grated cheese. Chef John will also demonstrate a special Tuscan-inspired sauce designed to complement the pappardelle and highlight the simplicity and elegance of traditional Italian cooking.
To complete the experience, we’ll share our favorite local markets for sourcing fresh ingredients and the essential tools you’ll need to keep making homemade pasta in your own kitchen.
No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).
Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. You will be seated with your booking party. BYOB is welcome, so for those over 21+ please feel free to bring your own beer and wine. Beer and wine will also be available for purchase from the hotel's market. Bring your curiosity and appetite!
Chef John has spent the past 13 years immersed in European life and culinary traditions. His training took him from mastering pasta in Florence, to perfecting Pizza Napoletana in Naples, and learning the art of cheesemaking in Calabria. After a successful career in finance, John decided to follow his true passion- food. Today, he specializes in handcrafted pasta and artisan bread, blending technique with creativity in every dish.
When he’s not in the kitchen, you’ll find him exploring new destinations, savoring great wines, or unwinding on any beach he can find.
