Roll up your sleeves and get ready channel your inner chef in this fun cooking class that feels more like a vibrant Spanish tapas party with an acclaimed Chef! Chef Houman is an award-winning chef who has competed on Beat Bobby Flay and was featured in Rachael Ray show, and is full of wisdom and stories to share with you. In this intimate, small-group culinary experience taking place at Chef Houman's home based in National Harbor, you will learn how to put together a gorgeous spread of classic Spanish tapas that is pleasing to your eyes and belly.

In this highly hands-on, interactive class, you will learn step by step how to create 3 very famous and classic Spanish Tapas dishes: Tortilla Espanola, Garlic Shrimp, and Sherried Mushroom. Bring your favorite wine, champagne, or beer because once you have created your masterpieces, you will definitely want to say cheers to celebrate the fruits of our labor!

When we say "small group size", we mean it. Chef Houman is currently only receiving up to 8 people to his class at a time. If you are joining with a partner or another pair of friends, please make one booking on behalf of everyone. Whether it is your partner, friend, or a family member, you can be sure this experience will help create special memories in a safe, intimate, and clean setting. No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets in case you wish to recreate the dish on your own after the class. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Chef Houman has an exceptional record of service and international experience at noted establishments such as Corporate chef for IPIC Gold Entertainments, Ritz Carlton Company, Vail Resorts and Spa, and Schoenborn Hotel in Vienna. He brings more than 35 years of expertise in all aspects of culinary arts and hospitality for Five Star/Five Diamond Hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants, and world-class resorts. After opening over a dozen restaurants for the Ritz Carlton in cities such as Barcelona, Shanghai, Singapore, Dubai, and Osaka, two of those restaurants now have Two Michelin Stars. Chef Houman has supervised large staffs of over 100 people and multi-million-dollar food and beverage budgets. Many of San Francisco top chefs developed their careers under Chef Houman, when he was the Culinary Director of the Ritz Carlton Hotels. In December 2015, Chef Houman competed against Iron Chef Bobby Flay on the Food Network, and has also been featured on Rachael Ray, Discovery Network, and NBC’s. Today Show with Katie Couric during Winter Olympics in Park City and Torino.

Where the class will be
Guest requirement
This class takes place in Chef Houman's clean and charming home in National Harbor neighborhood of Maryland. Guests are invited to BYOB wine, champagne or beer. Guests are advised to bring their own aprons to class. Masks should be worn at all times and gloves will be provided. You will be seated with your party, otherwise social distancing guidelines will be in place.
Cancellation policy
Reschedule request have to be made at least 48 hours before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 14 days for groups of 6 people or more. Cancellations are not permitted and tickets are non-refundable.See terms and policy.

Chef Houman Gohary was amazing to watch and work with. He is so hospitable, welcoming everyone into his home, engaging all the participants, and does what he can to make it as enjoyable as possible. If you want to do all the work, you can. If you want to sit back and just watch, you can. He also welcome questions of all types. The experience you get is amazing. He makes it as simple as possible for beginners, while also trying to teach more advanced techniques to more experienced cooks. Additionally, all the recipes are amazing. Simple to learn, but taste is spot on. I didn't know what to expect, and read the good reviews, but my expectations were blown out of the water when I went for the class. To sum up the experience, amazing chef / host, amazing recipes to learn, delicious food, amazing atmosphere, and everyone can take home some new skills after just one course. I would gladly attend any of Cheg Houman Gohary's classes again.
