Authentic Thai Green Curry & Mango Sticky Rice

Escape to the streets of Thailand as we create one of the most famous Thai classics, Green Curry! Hosted by our resident Thai Chef Instructor, you will have the unique opportunity to learn the cultural history of Thai cuisine and traditional techniques from the most authentic source!  As a special treat, you will learn to make the delicious and popular mango sticky rice to enjoy with your meal.  This class is a coconut lover's dream!

In this fun and hands-on class, you will be guided step-by-step in recreating this classic, beginning by learning how to make a Green Curry paste from scratch in both a traditional manner, and a more convenient, time-saving manner to make curry at home. You will also be guided through basic knife skills and where to source fresh, seasonal ingredients and specialty spices.  Green Curry is traditionally served with rice and we will have chicken or tofu available as protein options.  Vegetarians can be accommodated in this class.

Our chef instructor will steam the rice for the class.  Guests will make the coconut milk base and prepare a delicious sticky rice dessert.  Once you have created your masterpiece, you will then plate, garnish and enjoy eating your creations with your new found foodie friends!



No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, especially if you’re part of a large group.

Guests will be seated with their booking party and will share ingredients and equipment.  Outside drinks are not allowed. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. 21+ only.

Chef Saruj is self-taught and earned his 25 years of experience from owning his own Thai quick-service restaurant. It is called Chelsea Thai, located in Chelsea Market for 20 years. Then he became a Thai restaurant startup consultant. He learned most of his cooking experience from the best teacher, his mother. His roots are home-cooking, comfort food, and street food style. His latest position was Sous Chef at the Pierre Hotel.

Cancellation policy
Reschedule request have to be made at least 48 hours before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 14 days for groups of 6 people or more. Cancellations are not permitted and tickets are non-refundable.See terms and policy.

Instructor was great. He was funny but also very educational in the cuisine its origination, the ingredients and so forth. I learned a lot and enjoyed my experience. My only issue would be the location. With the winter weather, I guess the building has some issue since the floor started leaking as we were cooking our food. You could also hear loud clanking sounds where we were from other areas in the building. However, I was still able to enjoy my time due to the ambiance of the instructor.
