Be transported to the patisseries of Paris with this classic French Macaron class!
Don your chef aprons, grab your whisks and let's get baking! In this fun and interactive class, you will learn the fine art to making these mouthwatering morsels that are easy enough to be done in your own kitchen! Together with our classically trained Pastry Chef Instructor, we will demystify the making of these highly sought-after meringue-based sandwich cookies. Our Pastry Chef Instructor will take you through a detailed demonstration, before you will be guided step-by-step in replicating the process of meringue mixing, otherwise known as 'macaronage', piping, baking, assembling and of course, eating! Fillings for your macarons will be provided, such as chocolate ganache, raspberry jam and dulce de leche.
No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. This class is designed to be just as fun for the baking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).
Guests will work in small teams throughout the class, sharing ingredients & equipment. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. Outside drinks are not allowed. 21+ only.
Chef Becky is a classically trained pastry chef and educator with a passion for making baking both approachable and inspiring. She earned her Grand Diploma in Pastry Arts from The French Culinary Institute and spent 17 years working in some of New York City’s top kitchens. In addition to her culinary career, Becky currently teaches fourth and fifth grade. Missing the joy of sharing her love for the pastry arts, she launched an after-school cooking club, where she encourages budding young chefs to explore the sights, sounds, smells, and textures of food through hands-on cooking. Whether she’s baking with children or teaching seasoned home cooks, Becky believes in sharing her love of the pasty arts by creating joyful, hands-on learning experiences that build confidence and curiosity in the kitchen.
The space where we will be conducting class is a dining area with a full bar, along with designated prep stations, and not a formal kitchen. Guests will work in small teams throughout the class, sharing ingredients & equipment. Outside drinks are not allowed.
