Handmade Empanadas

Join us for this fun and hands-on class where you’ll learn to make one of the most popular Mexican street foods: empanadas!

We'll start by making the corn dough from scratch, which is the essential piece to bringing this recipe to life.  Guests will have 3 recipe options to choose from: cheese, veggie, and ground beef empanadas.  Fillings will be made and prepared by the guests depending on their choice.  Once the dough pockets are filled, they will be fried to crispy perfection.  From the sauces to the garnishes, you'll enjoy a little taste of Mexico in NYC.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in.  You will be seated with your booking party and will work together throughout the class by sharing ingredients and equipment.  Drinks are NOT included in the ticket price, but will be available for sale at the venue.  Outside drinks are not allowed. 21+ only.

Chef Sandro is originally from Mexico.  He believes that the best way to learn about a culture is by traveling. That’s why he's had the opportunity to travel a bit around Europe and South America.

In addition to traveling, he likes to read cookbooks and learn languages.  He speaks Spanish, English and French.  He is currently interested in Hydroponics and healthy food. Food can be delicious and healthy at the same time.  He also loves milkshakes!
