Korean Fried Chicken

Description

Join us on a culinary journey through the history and culture that makes traditional Korean fried chicken so crispy and delicious!  Americans aren’t the only ones with a love for deep fried flavor! This dish is a staple of celebratory street food in Korea from baseball games to festivals, and has grown exponentially in popularity internationally.

This class we will cover the steps necessary for marinating, frying, and sauce making to master one of the finest fried dishes ever created!

In this fun and hands-on class, you will be guided step-by-step in creating your marinade for the chicken, batter for frying the chicken and traditional gochujang serving sauce.  Guests will get a hands-on experience at dredging and frying their chicken with the assistance of your Chef Instructor.  Served with a side of rice and roasted broccoli with a spicy kick (which you will prep, chop & garnish), you'll sit down to a delicious and comforting meal that's perfect for any occasion.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, especially if you’re part of a large group.  Guests in the same booking party will sit and work together throughout the class, sharing ingredients & equipments.  Drinks are not included in the ticket price but are available for purchase at the hotel bar for guests 21 and over.  Outside drinks are not allowed.

Packed Experience! Absolutely incredible! This Korean Chicken Cooking Class exceeded every expectation—from the moment we stepped into the kitchen to the final bite of our perfectly crispy, spicy, and saucy masterpiece. Our instructor Chef Christian was not only knowledgeable but genuinely passionate about Korean cuisine. He took time to explain each ingredient, its cultural significance, and offered tips you simply can't get from a recipe book. Whether it was double-frying for extra crunch or balancing gochujang heat with a touch of sweetness, every step was thoughtfully guided. We made several variations—classic Yangnyeom (sweet & spicy), soy garlic, and, batter prep, and frying techniques. The class was well-paced, beginner-friendly, and also offered deeper culinary insight for more experienced cooks. What made it truly special was the atmosphere: fun, interactive, and full of laughter. We got to eat together at the end, and honestly? It tasted like something straight out of a Korean street food stall in Seoul.

We are home cooks and some in class aren’t cooks at all but there was plenty for all of us to learn (or be reminded of). It was well organized, our instructor was friendly, knowledgable and engaging. The chicken and broccoli were delicious. It would be very fun with a group of friends.
