Make Your Own French Macaron

Description

Join us for a fun and interactive workshop that will introduce you to the world of French macarons! Perfect for beginners, this hands-on class will guide you through the process of mastering the delicate art of macaron-making, starting with the essential techniques of mixing and folding to achieve the perfect shell.

Under the guidance of our classically trained Pastry Chef Instructor, we will demystify the macaron-making process. From a detailed demonstration to hands-on practice, you’ll gain confidence in creating these delicate treats. Together, we will explore every step—from mastering the meringue technique (macaronage) and piping, to baking, assembling, and, of course, tasting! You’ll also learn how to craft a rich French buttercream and experiment with classic flavors like almond and vanilla, along with modern twists such as matcha.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll walk away with the foundational skills and techniques needed to recreate these elegant treats at home, all in a relaxed and supportive environment.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you do not already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the baking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who is happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

You will work with other students in groups of 2-5 sharing equipment and ingredients. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, especially if you are part of a large group. This class is for guests 18+. Drinks will not be available for purchase during the class, but water will be provided. Alcoholic drinks are not allowed on site.

The flavor options weren’t that great, but the class and instructor were amazing. He made it seem easy to bake macarons. Very glad I booked this class.

Yuhe Su was a very patient and knowledgeable instructor. Enjoyed the class very much. Would have liked the class to be more instructional with measuring and knowing the ingredients of what we were mixing. I realize time was limited. But hopefully the recipes that were emailed after will be comprehensive.

Yuhe Su really impressed us with his baking knowledge. His techniques will bring out macaroon making game to its best! This was one of the best dates my wife and I shared. We had a blast making one of her favorite deserts. Other guest were also very fun and we even made new friends for double dates. This french cuisine event truly embodied the name cocusocial! We look forward to seeing what other classes are available.

This was my first class with this chef. He was patient and showed each step to make a macaroon. His style of making a macaroon is different from Chef Felix. I am glad this chef gave us an easier filling to make which could be made at our home. It was a fun class and we worked as a team. I would recommend this class to anyone who want to learn how to bake or make a macaroon.
