Nikkei Cuisine: Peruvian Inspired Sushi

Nikkei cuisine is a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian culinary traditions, blending Japanese techniques with Peruvian flavors and ingredients. This unique style offers innovative dishes that are both visually stunning and rich in flavor, showcasing the best of both cultures.

In this fun, hands-on and unique cooking class, you’ll learn all the skills needed to make three beautiful types of sushi: Tuna Maki Roll, Sweet Potato Maki Roll, and a Salmon Yuke (tartare).  You'll also make two traditional Peruvian pepper based sauces to enjoy with your rolls.  Prepare your camera and Instagram feed for the final plating.  These dishes are sure to give you Michelin Star vibes.

This class is beginner friendly.  We prepare your station with all the supplies and fresh ingredients required to create your Peruvian inspired sushi.  Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Guests in the same booking party will work together throughout the class by sharing ingredients and equipment.  Drinks are NOT included in the ticket price, but will be available for sale at the venue.  Outside drinks are not allowed. 21+

Guest requirement

The nature of our classes are set up so that booking parties will work together during class, sharing both ingredients and equipment.  Outside drinks are not allowed. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. 21+ only.

Cancellation policy
Reschedule request have to be made at least 48 hours before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 14 days for groups of 6 people or more. Cancellations are not permitted and tickets are non-refundable.See terms and policy.

Alvaro was an awesome teacher. He was personable, friendly, and funny. It was obvious he had experience and he was very knowledgeable in his field. The food prep tips were really helpful and much appreciated (like better ways to hold a knife, chop an onion, and make precise sushi roll cuts). I would definitely take a class taught by Alvaro again.
