Intro to the Art of Sushi

Description

Join us as we learn the Art of Sushi Making!

In this highly interactive and hands-on class, the Chef will let you in on tips and tricks of making delicious sushi rolls, from preparing the perfect sushi rice, cutting the fresh ingredients properly, and the art of rolling. This casual and easy to follow class will surely engage all your senses! All participants will make three variations of rolls including a Philly Roll, and a Lotus Roll as well as the Chef's "catch of the day" which will make use of fresh ingredients. You are invited to let your creativity flow and try rolling with seaweed both inside and out and mix and match different ingredients to develop your own unique edition.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Our venue partner Social Hall will have a wonderful selection of pours available for purchase. Outside drinks are not allowed.

Meet your chef instructor

Chef Rain's culinary journey began at an early age in my family’s Southern barbecue and soul food restaurant. Over the years, he had the privilege of working alongside some of the finest chefs and culinarians in a wide range of culinary environments.

He has enjoyed exploring many styles of cooking and sushi has become his specialty and true passion. It would be an honor to be your instructor in a fun, hands-on sushi-making experience where we’ll roll, create, and enjoy delicious sushi together.
