Master the basics of creating the most delicious, classic pork filling and learn to shape the dumplings into a few different shapes. Who said you can't play with your food? Consider the art of dumpling making as a fun yet therapeutic activity of origami...except you are using dumpling wrappers and not papers. It's time to let your creativity flow! Chef Cole will expertly demonstrate how to create your own dumpling skins from scratch so you can try and recreate at home. After the demo, you will continue by using high quality store-bought dumpling wrappers prepared for you ahead of time. You will also get to practice your knife skills when preparing the filling, vital skills that can be applied in your home kitchen. Finally, you will learn how to make a special dipping sauce to perfectly accompany your finished dumplings.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Find out about our favorite resources in Los Angeles for sourcing ingredients and basic equipment for dumpling making at home. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting. Please keep in mind there is pork in the recipe. The class may take place outdoor in Chef's personal backyard garden.

Chef Cole has been cooking for 20 years professionally and personally with styles reflecting many of the places he has lived and positions he has held in kitchens over the years. Cuban and Caribbean influences from growing up and cooking in Miami, BBQ and Italian cuisine in Richmond VA, gastro fare, pizza and mid western food in Chicago and more recently Asian, sushi and vegan fare here in Los Angeles.

This class is BYOB! The nature of our classes are set up so that booking parties will work together during class, sharing both ingredients and equipment.
Cancellation policy
Reschedule request have to be made at least 48 hours before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 14 days for groups of 6 people or more. Cancellations are not permitted and tickets are non-refundable.See terms and policy.
