Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and learn how to create your own fresh sushi rolls like a pro? You are in for a special treat!
In this highly interactive and hands-on class, the Chef will let you in on tips and tricks of making delicious sushi rolls, from preparing the perfect sushi rice, cutting the fresh ingredients properly, and the art of rolling. This casual and easy to follow class will surely engage all your senses! All participants will make three variations - a roll featuring Tuna or Salmon, a California Roll, and a "catch of the day" which will make use of fresh, locally sourced fish and sustainable ingredients. You are invited to let your creativity flow and try rolling with seaweed both inside and out and mix and match different ingredients to develop your own unique edition.
No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).
Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. You will be seated with your booking party and socially distanced from other guests. Aprons will be provided for you to use throughout class. Our venue partner, Duckfoot Brewing will have a wonderful selection of pours waiting for you. Chef Scott began his culinary career 20 years ago in New York. Having a desire for living a life full of creativity and adventure, he combined his passions for entertaining and food with his love for bringing people together and creating unforgettable moments. Chef Scott has crafted his culinary skills working for some of the top chefs and restaurant groups in New York and Southern California. His eagerness to explore various flavors, the familiar and the unfamiliar, is what makes him a unique chef.
Although Scott started his career 20 years ago, he was always interested in food. Coming from Italian parents who love food and bring the family together over epic cuisines, it is not shocking he made the transition from musician to chef. After taking some time off from being a full time drummer and instructor, Scott decided to attend culinary classes along with apprenticing at his favorite local restaurant. The Chef & Owner was not only an inspiration but mentor in many ways leading him to his goals of cooking and making everyone around him happy through food. It wasn’t long after that the California dream was realized and San Diego was just beginning to find its culinary identity- the perfect template and climate to craft his new culinary ideas.
