Make Your Own Dumplings

Description

Discover the flavor-packed world of dumplings!

In this hands-on cooking class experience, our expert Chef Instructor, previously the Sous Chef of Girin Korean Steakhouse, will teach you how to make Korean style Mandu dumplings. Guests will learn the technique of making dough from scratch and will fill their own dumplings using store-bought wrappers. Two types of fillings will be offered: vegetarian and one with ground beef and tofu. Guests will practice two traditional shapes of Korean mandu- pleated and half-moon. Your Chef Instructor will demonstrate how to steam cook the dumplings, allowing guests to practice this process on their own. The dumplings will then be served with a simple Mandu sauce and salad (pa muchim), which guests will also create themselves.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. You will be seated within your group and socially distanced from the other guests. Guests within the same booking party will work together throughout the class. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. 21+

It was nice, but not two hours, which we could've had if we had prepared more of the meal. We would've liked some tea to go with the dumplings.

It was good; the chef provided great directions and was very knowledgeable. One thing that concerned me was the hand washing was available in the immediate area and I was concerned that not everyone was using good hand and washing practices.

I would have liked a short demo of making a small amount of dumpling filling.

Would like to make the dough, have more supplies (cutters) per couple, maybe another spray bottle, etc. Consider making the class longer so the class could prepare the entire meal - i.e. the onion salad, etc. It was great, though, and we look forward to taking another class.
