In this hands-on and interactive class, you'll delve into the art of crafting delectable dumplings with a Thai twist.
First you'll learn the secret to making perfect dumpling dough. Then two different fillings will be made during class: Chicken and or Veggie. There will be an opportunity to try your hands at some knife skills to assist in the filling preparation process. The culinary adventure continues as you master the fundamentals of dumpling folding, exploring various fold types. Elevate your cooking expertise with insider tips on boiling, steaming and pan-frying techniques, ensuring your dumplings are nothing short of perfection. You'll also make a scratch dipping sauce to enjoy along with your creations at the end of class with your new foodie friends.
No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).
Chef Kyle has been part of the professional culinary world for over 33 years. Born in Thailand, raised in Minnesota, and now based in Clearwater, Florida, his journey through food has been both diverse and inspiring.
Kyle began his career as a dishwasher, steadily working his way up through the kitchen ranks to become a head chef. Today, he is the proud owner of a food trailer in Clearwater, where he showcases a blend of global flavors and personal culinary flair. Over the years, he has worked in more than 29 kitchens, gaining hands-on experience with a wide range of cuisines.
His formal culinary education includes graduating from St. Cloud Technical College in Minnesota, the Disney Culinary Academy, and a culinary institute in his homeland of Thailand. These experiences have shaped his distinctive style, combining technical precision with cultural depth.
Now, Chef Kyle is passionate about sharing the knowledge, skills, techniques, and insights he’s acquired throughout his decades-long career, making the art of cooking approachable, creative, and deeply rewarding.
Guests will work together in groups of 2 - 4 throughout the class, sharing ingredients and equipment. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Outside drinks are not permitted. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. 21+ only.
