Chicken Tikka Masala

Description

Chicken Tikka Masala, or Butter Chicken, is a delicately spiced and creamy curry cooked with chunky pieces of marinated grilled chicken. In the recipe you will learn, the chicken pieces are lightly marinated with yogurt and spices to enhance its flavors before grilling and adding to the smooth and aromatic tomato sauce.

Join Chef Jyoti in her Houston kitchen, where she will teach you step-by-step to make this very popular dish from scratch. Chicken Tikka Masala is deliciously served over a cumin basmati (or jasmine) rice and topped with a refreshing Raita (Indian condiment).

Raita is typically made of yogurt along with raw or cooked vegetables, mildly seasoned with salt & pepper. It's usually served as an accompaniment or side dish with curries, Pilafs, biryanis, kabobs, and much more. It makes a great dip as well!

Invite your friends and family to join you for class so you can connect virtually and enjoy a fun evening of creating something delicious (and comforting!) from scratch, together. No experience is required! You'll have the opportunity to interact with Chef Jyoti throughout the class and ask questions as you go.

You will receive an email with the equipment and ingredients list. However, the main ingredients required to participate along with the chef in your own kitchen include: boneless and skinless chicken breast or thighs, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, ground cumin, red chili powder, Greek yogurt, lime juice, salt, fresh ground pepper, tomato, vegetable oil, butter, green chili, onion, tomato puree, heavy whipping cream, garam masala, honey, ginger, cilantro, and basmati or other long-grain rice.

Cancellation policy
Reschedule request have to be made at least 48 hours before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 14 days for groups of 6 people or more. Cancellations are not permitted and tickets are non-refundable.See terms and policy.

We really enjoyed our class with Jyoti! She was informative and clear, entertaining, and upbeat. The chicken tikka masala came out delicious and we were very happy that it made so many portions so we can enjoy it again tomorrow. The only thing is that we didn't realize some ingredients had to be prepped beforehand, so it ended up being a little rushed during the class. This was a little different from the other CocuSocial class we did, in which every step of the prep was done during the allotted class time. Next time we'll make sure we're ready beforehand, and we'll definitely keep an eye out for more classes from Jyoti in the future!
