Explore the tradition of Dumplings from Asia!
In this fun and hands-on class we’ll walk through the history of dumplings and have fun creating and learning technique, and celebrate by sitting down at the end to enjoy your very own handmade savory dumplings.
Chef Justin will teach the class how to make pork and vegetarian filled dumplings along with the secrets of shaping, pleating and steaming or pan frying these masterpieces. Whether you are new to the kitchen or a seasoned foodie and expert home cook, your skills at any level will shine! You will get a chance to practice your knife skills and learn how to make your own fillings again at home. You will also learn how to shop for accessible ingredients in the DC area, and simple easy to store home equipment.
No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).
Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Wine and Beer is available for purchase at the venue (this venue does not allow BYOB).
