French Macaron

Description

Be transported to the patisseries of Paris with this classic French Macaron class!

Don your chef aprons, grab your whisks and let's get baking! In this fun and interactive class, you will learn the fine art to making these mouthwatering morsels that are easy enough to be done in your own kitchen! Together with our classically trained Pastry Chef Instructor, we will demystify the making of these highly sought-after meringue-based sandwich cookies. Our Pastry Chef Instructor will take you through a detailed demonstration, before you will be guided step-by-step in replicating the process of meringue mixing, otherwise known as 'macaronage', piping, baking, assembling and of course, eating! We will also explore a few flavor profiles and filling variations (including white chocolate ganache) to make your macarons really stand out from the rest!

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, especially if you’re part of a large group. Guests in the same booking party will sit and work together throughout the class. Outside drinks are not allowed. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. 21+ only.

Meet your chef instructor
My cooking journey started after I took a 2 week vacation to Paris, France. When I came back, I made up my mind that I wanted to go to culinary school. I enrolled myself in the La Academe de Cuisine and started my journey in the culinary industry! LAC gave me a solid foundation of a classic French culinary education, and opportunities to work with local celebrity chefs, and chef Emeral Lagasse on his discovery Chanel tv show as a test kitchen chef. Since then, I was a Sous Chef for a Canadian ambassador and worked at the Ritz Carlton. After LAC, I took a job as a private chef for the British ambassadors for 10.5 years, and taught cooking and pastry classes in and outside of the embassy. My first love was and is teaching, and sharing my culinary knowledge and experiences with other food enthusiasts!
