In this interactive virtual cooking class, Chef Fran will teach you how to make the perfect steak using techniques she learned at the Paris Le Cordon Bleu school. We will also make a delicious Bordelaise red wine sauce to accompany the steak, along with Fondant potatoes and glazed onions. Whether you’re cooking for one or for a group, this will be a meal to remember!
No experience is required! We will send you the equipment and ingredients list, which are easy to find and you may already have them in your home kitchen. Some essential ingredients for this class include: rib eye or other good quality steaks (12-18 oz. each), Salt/pepper, shallots, Bay leaf, several sprigs of thyme or dried, red Bordeaux wine (or other red wine), beef stock, black peppercorns, butter, Russet potatoes (or other starchy potatoes), olive oil or vegetable oil to fry the potatoes, chicken stock, cloves garlic, pearl onions, sugar, water.
You will have an opportunity to interact with the Chef and ask questions. Ticket is on a per-person basis. Former Modern Dancer and 'survivor of the 1960s' Fran retired from her job as a portfolio manager in 2011 to attend the Paris Le Cordon Bleu school. She completed her diploma in Cuisine in 2014 and has taught French and Spanish cooking to adults both in Australia and the United States.
