Discover the flavor-packed world of dumplings!

In this hands-on experience, Chef Terry will teach you how to make a Gyoza style pork and shrimp dumplings. You will learn how to make a traditional Gyoza filling, a dipping sauce, master stuffing and pleating Gyoza wrappers and then cook your dumplings in a cabbage-lined steamer. You will then enjoy tasting your own dumpling creations. For those wishing to try their hands at crispy, browned pot stickers, instructions will be given on how to your steamed dumplings to make pot stickers at home.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, especially if you’re part of a large group.

After graduating summa cum laude from Culinary Institute LeNôtre with not one, but two culinary degrees, Chef Terry utilized his gastronomic talents and entrepreneurial spirit as a gourmet Personal Chef. Chef Terry then began working his way up the restaurant kitchen food chain going from line cook to sous chef and finally to executive chef. He enjoys sharing his knowledge with others and teaching them how to make creative, delicious and nutritious meals.

He was great!! Everything was literally perfect and just as you’d want it to be. I think maybe a little less dried shrimp in the experimental batch, but that’s kind of the point of an “experimental” batch :)

This was an adventure! Although we found the location of the class a bit bizarre, we had a lot of fun! I was hoping to learn a bit more about cooking, but the teacher was very friendly and funny. He led us through a recipe, and offered a few tips that I found helpful. I would encourage the teacher to take on more of a leading approach, because we could go through a recipe on our own at home. We come to a class to learn something new! :)

Terry was a very personable instructor and was patient with my incompetence. It was his first time through this class and I’m certain it will only get better. Would be great to walk away with the recipes rather than have to ask for them afterwards. Since we didn’t have recipes to follow, we were dependent on being able to hear and remember and many instructions had to be repeated several times. Great tasting food and fun experience.

What a fun night making dumplings with my girlfriends! Terrell Poland did a fabulous job and we really learned a lot. Can't wait to make these for my family. I'd do another class like this in a heartbeat.
