Feeling festive this summer? Looking for a fun way to add a homemade dessert to your family table? Look no further! No gathering is complete until you have had a slice or two of a fresh fruit tart, so let us teach you how to bake the perfect one!
In this seasonal class, our Chef Instructor will guide you step-by-step through the technical processes of perfecting a scratch Short Crust and a French Pastry Cream. Learn the skilled processes of balancing ingredients, dough making, and perfecting the perfect pastry cream. Then, assemble your work of art with fresh seasonal fruits in a decorative pattern.
Once you have created your delicious masterpieces, you will then plate, decorate and devour your creations with your new found foodie friends! Or, take your tart home and share it with family and friends. After taking this class, make sure to tell your guests to save room for dessert because they are going to want to sample your newly honed baking skills!
No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. This class is designed to be just as fun for the baking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).
Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, especially if you’re part of a large group. Guests in the same booking party will sit and work together throughout the class by sharing ingredients and equipment. Chef Rich will have a welcome drink (wine or beer) available for each guest, but guests are also welcome to BYOB.
Chef Rich is originally from Pittsburgh, PA, and has spent the past 30 years honing his skills throughout the East Coast and Southern United States. He attended Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI, where he earned a degree in Culinary Arts and has a B.S. in Food Services Management. His resume offers a wide array of experiences including fine-dining restaurants, high-volume corporate chains, country clubs, and hotels in addition to teaching cooking classes.
