Pizza Party

Description

Unleash your inner ninja turtle at this handmade pizza party!

In this class you’ll learn how to make pizza from scratch, from choosing the best flours to selecting the perfect topping combinations to mastering the secrets to a crisp, bubbly crust. You will make a typical restaurant pizza in a commercial kitchen. You will learn how to make a Margarita pizza, which is a typical Neapolitan pizza made with tomatoes, mozzarella, fresh basil, salt and extra-virgin olive oil. Alternatively you can make a deluxe pizza with your own hand cut fresh toppings. You’ll also learn a bit of pizza history, including its early beginnings, regional pizza variations in Italy and some other tidbits. Then we eat!

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing). You will work with other students in groups of 2-4.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, especially if you’re part of a large group. This class is BYOB!

Meet your chef instructor
Hi! I’m Chef Ralph and I'm honored to teach all my guests what goes on “Behind the Scenes” in a kitchen. I’ve worked in the food industry for over thirty years, training chefs and even presenting to company presidents! It's always important to me to have fun at your job. You do that by sharing what you know. In my college days, I studied under former White House Chef Pasquale Rocco and have developed many sensational and creative dishes. From Italian to all forms of International fare, I help you produce a range of flavors for your guests. It's important to explore cuisines of different worlds and caress your taste buds!

Coupled with years of cooking experience, I have a Culinary Arts Degree as well as Dietetics. I love all aspects of cooking and can't want to meet all of you to have some fun in our class! Ciao!

Ralph Straub, was entertaining. I learned to make pizza and I had plenty of free wine to enjoy the process. The people there were friendly. The kitchen was full of learners, but not too overcrowded.
