Led by Chef Frances, a graduate of the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu school in Paris, you will be well equipped to craft dainty cakes to rival any fancy patisserie.

This amazing dessert might be worthy of the Great British Bake Off Show! Don your pastry chef hat as you make this dome-shaped dessert, consisting of chocolate cake, frozen chocolate mousse, and topped with chocolate glaze. Garnished with a delicious Hazelnut Crumb, this dessert just might win you the top prize! For this class, you will need a silicon semi-sphere mold, with at least 6 wells.

No experience is required! We will send you the equipment and ingredients list, which are easy to find and you may already have them in your home kitchen. Some essential ingredients for this class include: semi-sweet dark chocolate, whipping cream, white sugar, unflavored gelatin powder, AP flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, salted butter, icing sugar (confectioner's sugar), eggs, whole milk, roasted hazelnuts (or pecans or other nuts of your choice. Omit to make it nut-free.) You will have an opportunity to interact with the Chef and ask questions. Ticket is on a per-person basis.

Former Modern Dancer and 'survivor of the 1960s' Fran retired from her job as a portfolio manager in 2011 to attend the Paris Le Cordon Bleu school. She completed her diploma in Cuisine in 2014 and has taught French and Spanish cooking to adults both in Australia and the United States.

We will be sending you a list of ingredients and equipment you would need for this class. Please make sure you have your ingredients and equipment prepped and ready so that you can bake along with our Chef in real time! Some ingredients may require you to prepare before the session begins. A Zoom link will also be shared with you upon registration.
Cancellation policy
Reschedule request have to be made at least 48 hours before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 14 days for groups of 6 people or more. Cancellations are not permitted and tickets are non-refundable.See terms and policy.

OMG! This chocolate dessert was so delicious! There are four parts to making these little cakes, but overall it's not too difficult. The pace of the class was good and the explanations were clear and well-organized. This was my second class with Fran and once again, she was great!

Excellent class. I thought the chef did a great job breaking down the many parts of what at first looked like a complicated recipe (mousse dome, cake, glaze, crumb). Crystal clear and easy to follow. I would recommend this class to anyone, even to people (like me) who don't have a lot of experience with fancy desserts.

I love chocolate - this class did not diappoint! The end product was delicious - a definite WOW! dessert - accomodating and patient instructor. Fran explained the importance of various instructions and answered all questions. I was especially happy to learn how to glaze! Third baking class with Fran - all worthwhile.
