Don’t let the sushi chef have all the fun!
Come and learn how to spread, layer, tuck and roll your way to sushi heaven. In this fun, hands-on, social cooking class, you’ll practice all the skills needed to make sushi and spring rolls at home, including how to prepare and season sushi rice, select sushi-grade fish, and add additional tasty vegetables and other ingredients to enhance the deliciousness of your sushi. You’ll learn to make a Tiger roll (with shrimp tempura), Philadelphia roll (salmon, veggies & cream cheese), and a fresh vegetable spring roll (with vermicelli rice noodles and veggies). Each guest will also make their own dipping sauce to enjoy with their sushi and spring rolls.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in and get settled. Drinks will be available for purchase from The Melody Lynne Vineyard Wine Bar and are NOT included in the ticket price. Outside drinks are not allowed. 21+ only please.
Chef John has maintained Executive Chef positions in country clubs, resorts and restaurants all over the United States. He spent several years as a Culinary Instructor teaching his students everything from basic kitchen skills to Regional & International Cuisines. While working in Minneapolis, he was invited to the White House as a guest chef to contribute to Michelle Obama's national campaign against childhood obesity. Chef John now owns a hospitality service company Twenty-four Sixty-eight Culinary based in Seattle. When he is not teaching or serving delicious cuisine he enjoys hiking, fishing, and of course recipe development.
