Learn the basics of Wine Tasting from Sommelier Ed, a veteran of the New York City food & wine scene. This class will be an interactive discussion over a flight of 6 hand picked wines from around the world. Before the 90 minutes are up, you will have learned wine tasting techniques, terminology, service considerations, and tips on how to enjoy wine experiences even more so in the future.
You will be provided with instructions for purchasing both red and white wines in advance of class. Though Sommelier Ed has provided the types of wines he'll be taking you through during class, you get to choose the labels and bottles that are most appealing to you.
Invite your friends and family to join you for class so you can connect for a virtual cheers! No prior experience is required! You'll have the opportunity to interact with Ed throughout the class and ask questions while trying some delicious wines.
You will receive an email with the equipment and ingredients list in order to prepare for class.
Ed is a 20 year veteran of the New York City wine market. After obtaining his MBA from Cornell’s Hotel program, he had held myriad positions working for such industry leaders as Shelly Fireman (Redeye Grill), Alan Stillman (Smith & Wollensky/Quality Meats), George Biel (Hillstone/Houston’s), and Jeffrey Chowdoro (China Grill). Recently, Ed worked for Justin/Landmark and Francis Ford Copolla wineries as their brand ambassador in the New York Market.
A member of and a Certified Sommellier by the Court of Master Sommelliers, Ed is also certified as a Wine Captain by the Sommelier Society of America. A passionate teacher, Ed also work as a freelance instructor and had taught myriad wine topics in the City. He is excited to join the CocuSocial team, and looking forward to having some fun with our members while attending class. Cheers.
