Intro to French Pastry

Description

To ensure proper social distancing is in place, this venue can only accept bookings of 2 or more. If you are booking your class as a group please make the reservation under one name, as a full booking group.

Be transported to Paris, via the East Village, for an afternoon of learning the art of French Pastry!

In this memorable, hands-on class, you will learn the art of French Choux pastry. Choux has the reputation for being difficult, but it’s surprisingly simple! Our Pastry Chef Instructor will take you through a detailed demonstration, before you will be guided step-by-step in replicating how to make the perfect choux dough, piping, baking and filling to create 4-5 Eclairs and Cream Puffs! Master these easy recipes and you can make many pastries most bakers are scared to try! Before you know it you will have also learnt the basics to Gougères, Churros, French Cruller Donuts and Choux Beignets!

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the baking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Please ensure you arrive with proof of Covid-19 vaccination and a form of ID for each participant. This class is NOT BYOB and drinks are NOT available for purchase at the venue. You will be provided with a takeaway container to enjoy your food at home after class, free from wearing your mask.

We had a fantastic time, Chef Jen was very engaging and supportive, whilst making sure we did all the work ourselves so we gained maximum experience and skills from the event. At the end we left with sooooooo many yummy eclairs that we are having to eat them at each meal time (for 2 days which is good thing). In addition to the great leadership by Chef Jen, the facility has extremely good hygiene standards including clean workspaces, hand washing station, clean and well stocked toilet in addition to a very stringent 'mask-on' and distancing policies whilst on the premises (except when briefly tasting our own yummy creations). Overall a very enjoyable, engaging, educational and value-for-money experience from a local provider who has a well planned business and customer experience model in place.
