If you have already taken other cooking classes with highly sought after Chef Steve and are craving for more delicious experiences, here is an exciting new class for you! In this intimate and exclusive culinary experience taking place at Chef Steve's home based in Alexandria, you will learn how to execute a classic Brazilian meal consisting of fresh hand-made Pao de Queijo, cheesy and chewy bite-sized bread rolls made with tapioca starch and Feijoada, a Brazilian national dish that is literally a melting pot of all kinds of fabulous flavors from chorizo, beans, bacon, pork rib and shoulder. You will also learn valuable knife skills that can easily be transferred to your day to day cooking at home

In this hands-on, interactive class, you will start by learning step by step how to create, knead, and bake fresh cheesy tapioca bread. Then comes the main star of the show: Feijoada! This national dish is a pride of Brazil - full of flavors and textures, this melting pot of a dish is representative of vibrant and diverse culture of Brazil.

Once you have finished making you dish, we will dine together and say cheers to celebrate the fruits of our labor!

When we say "small group size", we mean it. If you sign up as a pair, you will be the only two guests present in the space so undivided attention and thorough instructions from Chef Steve every step along the way is guaranteed. Whether it is your partner, friend, or a family member, you can be sure this experience will help create special memories in a safe, intimate, and clean setting. Since this will be a private cooking class for you and your partner, if you have any allergy or food restrictions, please reach out to us beforehand and Chef Steve will do his best to customize the experience as much as possible. No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets in case you wish to recreate the dish on your own after the class. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Meet your chef instructor
Chef Steve started at a very young age and cooked in restaurants all throughout his highschool career. He continued his culinary education and obtained a professional degree in Culinary Arts at the Art institute of Washington. He especially enjoyed learning about Italian cuisine in school and dug further into learning about the art of making fresh pasta by hand. He worked in several Italian restaurants and studied under Great Italian Chefs, even some Michelin star Chefs as well. He has opened several restaurants in his career from California, Arizona all the way to the D.C area. He has studied and learned several different cuisines, but Italian (especially creating pasta from scratch) remains his absolute favorite and passion.

Where the class will be
Guest requirement
Guests are invited to BYOB wine, champagne or beer. Guests are advised to bring their own aprons to class. Masks should be worn at all times and gloves will be provided. You will be seated with your party, otherwise social distancing guidelines will be in place.
Cancellation policy
Reschedule request have to be made at least 48 hours before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 14 days for groups of 6 people or more. Cancellations are not permitted and tickets are non-refundable.See terms and policy.
