Traditional Asian Dumplings

Description

Treat yourself to a tour throughout Asia with this delicious experience in the Origin and making of the traditional Asian Dumpling!

You’ll master three signature dumpling styles from across Asia:  Japanese Gyoza, Korean Mandu, and Chinese Shumai.  Each with unique folds and cooking methods. We’ll use shared group cooking stations as you prepare three savory fillings (veggie, pork, as well as pork & shrimp), practice traditional folding techniques, and cook your dumplings to perfection. At the end of class, you'll enjoy your creations and leave with the confidence to make dumplings at home anytime.

This beginner-friendly class is perfect for anyone who loves dumplings or is curious to try making them from scratch. No prior cooking experience is needed — we’ll guide you step by step! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. For vegan and vegetarian guests, Chef Hideki can guide you through necessary modifications. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, especially if you’re part of a large group.  Guests will work in groups throughout the class, sharing equipment and ingredients.  Outside drinks are not allowed.  Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price.  21+ only.
