French Macaron

Description

Learn to make French macarons to rival Ladurée.

In this fun and hands-on class, you’ll learn tips and techniques for making delectable macarons, easy enough to be done in your home kitchen. Together we'll demystify the making of these highly sought-after meringue-based sandwich cookies. You’ll be guided step-by-step through the meringue mixing (macaronage), piping, baking, assembling and of course, the eating! Plus we’ll explore a few yummy flavor and filling variations. Macarons are delicate confections made with almond flour; perfect for those who prefer gluten-free or dairy-free treats!

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the baking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing). You will work with other students in groups of 4.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, especially if you’re part of a large group. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. Outside drinks are not allowed. 21+ only.

Before graduating from the Institute of Culinary Education, Gina also decorated many of the beautifully elaborate sugar cookies at Eleni’s in Chelsea Market.

Had a great time. The class was very informative. The directions were made very clear. The Macaron's are a lot of work, but are very tasty. Had a fun afternoon.
