Homemade Deep Dish Pizza

Description

Embark on a culinary journey to learn the art of crafting the perfect deep dish pizza at home!

Our engaging and hands-on class is designed to immerse you in the fascinating world of pizza making. Discover the rich history of pizza, tracing its origins and exploring the diverse regional variations that have shaped this beloved dish into the many styles we savor today. Your Chef Instructor will demo how to make pizza dough from scratch, using a stand mixer to properly knead it to the right consistency. This is the class for you if you're keen to know more about the science behind dough and bread baking, as you'll learn plenty of techniques and various tips and tricks to try out in your own kitchen.

While the dough rests there will be plenty to do-from making a scratch pizza sauce to practicing knife skills to prep your pizza toppings. In addition to enjoying your pizza at the end of class, guests will enjoy a fresh salad.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don't already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who's happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Please arrive on time. Late arrivals may not be able to be accommodated. Please note that class will be hosted in Chef Jaime's apartment. Chef Jaime shares her home with 2 small dogs weighing under 30 pound combined. Though they will be in another room to themselves throughout the class, this class is not suitable to those allergic or afraid of dogs. Guests are invited to BYOB (beer and wine only).

Chef Jaime graduated culinary school in 2010, where she studied savory cooking, with a very soft spot for sweets and pastry. She then worked in a recreational cooking school for two years covering every kind of cuisine and technique people wanted to learn. Some chefs prefer to be creative (cooking) and others methodical (baking), but she loves both so she has worked in both savory and sweet kitchens since then. Jaime has tips and tricks that work for all kinds/levels of learners. She's worked everywhere from small cafes to fine dining and everything in between and loves questions. She's excited to share knowledge!

I had an absolute blast with (name) withy friend - she is professional, hilarious, welcoming, patient, and knows all things food! I don't cook and she was able to help me through every step - and if I may say, I ended up with some very delicious pizza. The bonus was the sorbet and the great company. We made some new friends and can't wait to come back for more! Definitely give it a try!
