Roll Like a Pro: Sushi 101

Description

Turn fresh ingredients into delicious, handmade sushi.

Join Japanese-trained sushi chef Zachary for a fun, hands-on sushi-making class! Learn how to create sushi from the ground up, from preparing perfectly seasoned sushi rice and fresh ingredients to mastering the techniques of rolling, cutting, and presentation. Chef Zachary will guide you step-by-step while sharing professional tips and an inside look at the traditions and techniques behind one of Japan's most recognizable foods.

What You Will Learn:

You'll learn the fundamentals of sushi preparation while making three different rolls: a California Roll featuring crab, avocado, and cucumber; a Spicy Tuna Roll made with fresh tuna, a house spicy mixture, and scallions; and a Vegetable Roll featuring fresh, colorful vegetables. You'll practice both inside-out and traditional nori-out rolling techniques while learning how to properly prepare, roll, cut, and plate your sushi.

Each roll introduces different ingredients, textures, and techniques. You'll make, cut, and taste each roll as you go, building your skills while enjoying what you've created along the way.

No Experience Necessary:

Whether you're a sushi enthusiast, planning a unique date night, looking for a fun outing with friends, or simply eager to try something new, this class offers a relaxed and approachable introduction to sushi-making. Chef Zachary will demonstrate each technique before you try it yourself, offering guidance and assistance throughout the class.

All ingredients, tools, and equipment are provided, and no prior cooking or sushi-making experience is necessary. You'll leave with the knowledge and confidence to make sushi at home, along with three delicious rolls you've made yourself.
