Shaken Up: Mixology Basics

Description

In two fun-filled hours you can become a confident bartender, creating delicious and popular cocktails that you'll want to recreate at home again and again. An expert mixologist will walk you through how to master 4 delicious cocktails: a Bourbon Old Fashioned, Spicy Mango Margarita, Lemon Drop, and a Sidecar.

The instructor will demonstrate each cocktail on the menu, giving you the opportunity to taste them all. Each student will be paired with a partner and have the opportunity to make their two favorites from the list. The class includes a segment on making simple syrup from scratch and utilizing stylish garnishes. Each cocktail focuses on different mixology techniques, which are some of the basics for behind the bar that you can use at home!

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Guests will work in groups of two throughout the class by sharing ingredients and equipment, but we are happy to seat you with your booking party if you are with a bigger group. Outside drinks are not allowed. 21+ only.

Naomi did an amazing job teaching this mixology course! I booked this class as a part of a group celebrating a friend's birthday and was unfortunately the last to arrive :( So firstly, I'd like to acknowledge her patience, empathy and understanding regarding the arrival of the class participants as the weather was treacherous due to the hurricane. She was empathic and kind in ensuring that participants were SAFE FIRST and was professional and welcoming when I (and others) arrived late due to the torrential downpours and winds. I've attended other culinary classes where instructors were rude and unwelcoming when participants arrived late and that was not the case with Naomi. Additionally, she provided thorough explanations of how each of the cocktails were to be made, explained the importance of aromatics (which was very beneficial to people like me who've no background in mixology or bartending) and provided easy and memorable cues for making the drinks. Naomi was a gracious host and teacher and she came around to provide us with corrective instructions while also allowing us to enjoy the experience and I appreciated that. She managed the time well but still covered all the material. I would definitely take another class with her and highly recommend her!
