You may know Tamales as the infamous filling stuffed corn husks that the entire family gets involved to prepare, sometimes even days in advance!
We're excited to offer you an authentic Tamales making experience, led by our Mexican Chef Instructor. Here you will learn to make masa dough, along with both a sweet and savory filling. For our vegan and vegetarian friends, we will have tofu available. Otherwise, chicken tamales will be the star of the menu!
Entering into the festive winter season, while we wait for the tamales to steam, we'll switch gears and make an authentic Mexican hot chocolate-also known as champurrado. Sip on your cocoa, or save it to enjoy with your strawberry filled tamales for a delicious sweet treat.
No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).
Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. You will be seated with your booking party and socially distanced from other guests. Guests in the same booking party will work together throughout the class by sharing ingredients and equipment. Drinks are NOT included in the ticket price, but will be available for sale at the venue. Outside drinks are not allowed. 21+ only.
