In this fun and hands-on class, Join Chef Jen in her Chicago kitchen, as she guides you step-by-step in recreating this classic stir fry dish known for its beautifully tender beef and sweet and sour sauciness. You will learn basic knife skills, how to properly handle the meat and how to create a flavorful and healthy vegetable stir fry. Once you have created your masterpiece, you will then plate, garnish and devour your creations with your fellow foodies joining you for this delicious virtual cooking party!

No experience is required! Invite your friends and family to join you for class, so you can connect virtually and enjoy a fun experience cooking together. You will receive an email with the equipment and ingredients list to know what type of beef cut to purchase and make your marinade & stir fry sauce. The main ingredients required to cook along with the chef include: tender cut of beef, bell pepper, yellow onion, garlic cloves, scallions, oil, soy sauce, oyster sauce, apple cider vinegar, baking soda, cornstarch, brown sugar, honey, and black pepper. You will have an opportunity to interact with Chef Jen and ask her questions throughout the session.

Prepare your mis-en-place ahead of the session by measuring out your ingredients, grab your favorite drinks, and get ready to join a fun virtual cooking party! Tickets are on a per-person basis. Please note the time is in Eastern Time Zone!

Chef Jen is a Mom of 2 wonderful girls, as well as a Community Education Culinary Instructor and former Specialty Bakeshop owner.  She helps make everyday cooking simple, flavorful, and with no artificial ingredients.  She loves to use fresh herbs and spices to naturally enhance the flavor of food. Aside from cooking savory foods, she is also passionate about baking and decorating cakes.  Chef Jen loves to teach kids classes!  When she isn't cooking or baking, Chef Jen loves to attend yoga classes.

Guest requirement
We will be sending you a list of ingredients and equipment you would need for this class. We don't want anyone falling behind so please make sure you have your ingredients and equipment prepared, measured, and ready so that you can cook along with our Chef in real time! Some ingredients may require you to pre-cook (such as rice) before the session begins. A Zoom link will also be shared with you upon registration.

We both had so much fun with Jen. The recipe, while easy, had multiple steps that needed to be in order. The final result was so yummy. We can't wait to make this for our friends. Jen makes each step easy and walks you through the do's and do nots as well a little history on the cuisine. Thanks, Jen. Instructor was good- learned a few tips for stir-frying correctly. Since the cooking was fast I should have had a print out or second screen to see the measurements and instructions- may want to add this to the directions. Will definitely do another course

Fun class with clear i instructions and a good view of the cooking. The only change I would make for me would be to prepare both marinade and sauce ahead of time because I was not able to make the unprepared one quickly enough. Thanks Jen!
