Japanese desserts present a variety of flavors and textures that are exciting to the American palate. You may have tried a Matcha tea latte before, but have you ever baked with Matcha?!
Join Chef Jen from her Chicago kitchen as she guides you through an hour and a half of making two tasty and trendy Japanese desserts: Mochi Ice Cream and a tiered Matcha Cake.
Pick out your favorite ice cream and get ready to learn the secret to freezing it in a case made out of rice flour and sugar. Then learn how to fill your Matcha cake layers with a home made Adzuki (red bean) filling.
Invite your friends and family to join you for class so you can connect virtually and make some delicious and creative treats together. This is a fun class for the whole family to enjoy, especially the taste testing part at the end! No experience is required! You'll have the opportunity to interact with Chef Jen throughout the class and ask questions as you go.
You will receive an email with the equipment and ingredients list. However, the main ingredients required to assemble your desserts along with the chef include: rice flour, cake flour, granulated sugar, powdered sugar, baking powder, eggs, food coloring, cornstarch, ice cream, canola oil, cream of tartar, red beans, butter, heavy cream, cool whip, and matcha powder.
