Sweet & Savory Galettes

Description

Galettes are the perfect versatile bake for spring and summer months.

Join Chef Jen from her Chicago kitchen, as she teaches you how to master this French recipe. You will learn to make a pastry dough that's very versatile and guaranteed to yield the flakiest crust! During class you will be making one sweet and one savory galette, Strawberry Cheesecake and Pesto Heirloom Tomato.

It is advised that you make your pastry dough before class so that it has at least an hour to sit in the fridge. Chef Jen also recommends using a food processor when making your dough.

Invite your friends and family to join you for class so you can connect virtually and make these two seasonal galettes together. In one hour and a half class you'll have your meal and dessert both ready to go!

No experience is required! You'll have the opportunity to interact with Chef Jen throughout the class and ask questions as you go.

You will receive an email with the equipment and ingredients list. However, the main ingredients required to bake along with the chef in real time include: eggs, milk, semolina flour, high gluten flour, olive oil, salt, ground pepper, cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, fresh strawberries, parmesan cheese, ricotta cheese, green onion, parsley, basil, lemon, heirloom tomatoes, and store bought pesto.

Measure out and prepare your ingredients ahead of the session, prepare your dough, leave it to rest in the fridge, and get ready to bake!

Tickets are on a per-person basis. Please note our class times are in Eastern Time Zone!

This class was awesome. Jen did a great job walking through instructions and directing or redirecting those that were cooking during the class. I love having the opportunity to learn new cooking skills and recipes as well as connecting with the cooks/chefs who are teaching classes for you. Thank you!
