Classic Handmade Pasta

Description

There’s nothing so delicious as fresh pasta, and creating it yourself.

Learn how to make the perfect pasta dough and then transform it into beautiful Pappardelle noodles. Your chef instructor will demo how to make a traditional Pomodoro sauce, along with some audience participation.  Learn how to use a pasta machine to roll out your dough. Then practice hand cutting rustic noodles to form your Pappardelle.  Guests will have the opportunity to create and plate their own pasta and enjoy eating it with some fresh mozzarella.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

You will be seated with your booking party and possibly work with other students in groups of 2-5 sharing equipment and ingredients. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in so that class can begin one time. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. Outside drinks are not allowed.

Meet your chef instructor

I started my hospitality career in 1992 as a prep cook in New Orleans in

the French Quarter at the world renowned Cajun and Creole restaurant,

K-Paul’s Louisiana Kitchen. I later moved to Seattle to work with Tom

Douglas at his second restaurant, a Pike Place Market favorite, Etta’s

Seafood. During my formal chef training at the Seattle Central College

culinary program, I worked as a server and room service manager in the

elegant, European style Sorrento Hotel in their fabulous restaurant, the

Hunt Club. Upon graduation, I went on to work for celebrity chef,

Sabrina Tinsley, (Chopped, Iron Chef), at her exquisite Seattle

restaurant, Osteria la Spiga. For the past 18 years, I have done freelance

catering around Seattle and raised two kids.

This was by far one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! Sam’s instructions were very clear and he answered all our questions as we had them. The class was very well paced and we ended with such an amazing pasta dinner. I would definitely go to this again.

Sam was great super engaging, and informative. The only thing is I wish there were more stations and material we were so we could have done a little more cooking.
